Patty Brard in Party: The diva calls her daughter daily!

The latest issue of Party magazine features an article about Patty Brard. The Shownieuws expert discusses her relationship with her daughter, Priscilla Nasi

On July 23rd, 1983, Priscilla was born in Los Angeles, CA, to Dutch media personality Patty Brard and Italian music publisher/record producer Carlo Nasi (one heir to the FIAT empire). When Patty and Carlo divorced in 1989, Priscilla followed her mother to the Netherlands. In 2003-2004, she appeared on La Brard's high-rated reality show "Patty's Posse". Unlike her mother, Priscilla doesn't like to be in the spotlight and doesn't appreciate her brief experience on television.

Patty and Priscilla were not on speaking terms for eleven years. Last year, the ladies were reunited. Patty Brard involved in a minor car accident

On August 11th, Patty Brard caused a minor collision in Amstelveen, the Netherlands. In her Instagram Stories, she explained that she was late for an appointment and therefore drove through an orange light at a traffic light. The SBS6 star then crashed into another car.

"Once again, I apologize," she addresses the driver of a Volkswagen, the front of which was quite wrinkled. "But luckily, it's only damage to the eyes," she added.

Her own car, a small leopard-print BMW, was also damaged. No one was injured.

Item on Shownieuws on August 11th

Patty's naysayers, Jan Roos and Dennis Schouten of the entertainment news show RoddelPraat on YouTube, also mentioned this incident in the "Patty Patty Patty" section of the August 18th episode. According to the gentlemen, La Brard drove through a red light, and they even declared that they got evidence of it. This news was also discussed on RoddelPraat's website.

Luv's plans for the future: a biopic and new remixes!

Patty Brard, Marga Scheide and José Hoebee (Luv's original trio) at the height of their international career in 1979

The latest issue of Dutch celebrity gossip magazine "Privé" features an article about Luv' combined with an interview with Marga Scheide. The blonde singer discussed a Luv' biopic project developed by Frederik Nelck, a film and television scriptwriter, script doctor, format creator, item director and songwriter. A couple of years ago, Nelck collaborated with Hans van Hemert to launch the girl group named Adalyn. Click here, here and here to read articles about Adalyn

"TV scriptwriter and film-maker Frederik Nelck visited me to explain his plan. He showed me a nice promo video, and it looked very professional. I'm very enthusiastic about it. Frederik takes it very seriously and has a very clear storyboard. He's working on a script, and when it's finished, the casting will start. Frederik is known to us as he launched the girl group Adalyn, a younger version of Luv'," Marga told.

When asked if she was not afraid of Patty Brard, who might veto this project, Marga answered: "No, I'm not afraid of anyone. Frederik checked all the options legally. Actresses are allowed to portray us in a film. We did a lot of things, not only in the Netherlands but also abroad. You can say many things about Luv', but we have often hit the headlines for more than four decades. It can give Frederik lots of inspiration".

Marga also mentioned her collaboration with Piv Huvluv: "In October, I'll be on stage in Belgium. I'll be performing as a guest artist during the theatre tour of Flemish comedian Piv Huvluv. Last year, I performed only once as part of his tour through Flanders, but the next shows had to be cancelled due to coronavirus. In a couple of months, we'll be starting again. However, I don't intend to sing with Luv' again. I decided to stop the group when José Hoebee became ill. Without her, there is no Luv'".

Moreover, Privé magazine provided an overview of Luv's ups and downs during their career: Patty Brard's departure, line-up changes (Ria Thielsch and Chimène van Oosterhout's recruitment), Patty's marriages with Ron Brandsteder and Carlo Nasi, the launch of a limited company inspired by ABBA to control every aspect of the group's career, José Hoebee's bankruptcy after the passing of her husband Will, Marga and Patty's wealth (both ladies have houses on Ibiza) and many other funny anecdotes (including the one when the ladies flew first class. All of a sudden, a baby came under the curtain and was crawling. Marga told him with disgust: "Eew! An economy baby!").

In addition to the biopic, new remixes of Luv' songs will soon come out. Music professional Casper Janssen mentioned this other project to Privé. "Several Luv' allies (including Peter Boonstra, who wrote a Luv' biography years ago) are working on releasing new remixes of Luv' hits. Hans van Hemert already listened to the demos and was satisfied. We, the team working on the CD, support Peter Boonstra. Due to copyright issues related to photos, Peter was obliged to stop the sale of his book," Casper said.

On July 29th, beautiful pictures of Peter Boonstra with José, Marga and her partner Michiel Gunning were posted on Facebook. Peter discussed Luv's future plans with the ladies.

On July 30th, the "Privé" section (entertainment news) of Holland's most-read newspaper De Telegraaf included another article about Luv's biopic project. Patty Brard (who had not been on good terms with her former Luv' colleagues for many years) reacted to the news about the film. "Let them do it," the diva said laconically.

The publication of the articles in Privé and De Telegraaf caused a chain reaction in the Dutch media. Websites (including Libelle.nl, Superguide.nl, MSN.nl, and Utopianieuws.nl) reported the news. Luv' biopic was briefly mentioned on RTL 4's infotainment program RTL Boulevard (which drew 746.000 viewers (market share: 24.7%) on July 30th. This subject was discussed more in detail by gossip columnist and Weekend editor-in-chief Bart Ettekoven on the same evening on SBS6's entertainment news program Shownieuws (which only attracted 362.000 viewers (market share: 13.4%). La Brard often appears on Shownieuws as a showbiz expert, but she was not present due to her holidays in Ibiza. "Film-maker Frederik Nelck is preparing a movie about Luv', the famous girl group of the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s. He is a big fan. Several years ago, he launched a girl group inspired by Luv', but it was a flop. He visited Marga Scheide, who was honoured that he wanted to make this film. He showed her a trailer. The script is not finished. Luv' were a big group. It has all the ingredients of a good story: intrigues, break-ups, reunions, reconciliations, feuds, behind-the-scenes anecdotes, all the hits...They were very successful abroad. However, there are some copyright issues. Luv's father and songwriter, Hans van Hemert is happy about it. He says: "the more they play my music, the happier I am". I got in touch with Patty earlier today. She told me that she had nothing to say about it. It's a closed chapter. Anytime she talks about Luv' it causes a sensation. She wishes the ladies and the filmmaker good luck," Bart Ettekoven explained.

Actually, Patty didn't shut up and posted mean comments on her Instagram and Facebook stories. She dissed Luv' about the biopic and previous projects (Luv's 2019 reggaeton single (Has anybody heard of it?), Marga's guest performance with Piv HuvLuv...)

On August 1st, Privé editor-in-chief and showbiz expert Evert Santegoeds talked about the biopic and Patty's reactions on SBS6's Shownieuws (526.000 viewers/market share: 22.8%). "On Friday she (Patty) wished the film-maker good luck, but I think that now she is a bit angry on her mountain in Ibiza. What bothers her is that Marga and José are stuck in a Luv' time warp. Patty did a lot of other things, and she has a whole new career. They should have done that too," Santegoeds told. "Patty wonders who is going to portray her. She also says that a lot of projects have been announced with a lot of fanfare but not that much has been really released," Santegoeds added.

Patty Brard in Party: She Works Hard For The Money!

The latest issue of Party magazine features an article about Patty Brard

The larger-than-life media personality has known wealth but also poverty. In the 1980s, she was married to Italian record producer and music publisher Carlo Nasi, one of the heirs to the FIAT empire and the father of her daughter Priscilla. In 1993, the diva went bankrupt due to the flop of a magazine she launched with her then-partner, Eric Peute. It took her 10 years to clear her debt of 2.7 million Dutch guilders. Her participation in celebrity TV competitions "Sterren Dansen Op Het Ijs" (figure skating) in 2007 and "Sterren Springen" (diving) in 2012 boosted her career. It even led to several exclusive deals with SBS6. In 2017, her contract with Talpa (SBS6's parent company) ended as she was considered "not fruity and fresh anymore" by a TV executive. March 2019 saw her comeback on SBS6 when she signed a 4-year contract with Talpa TV. Read the article posted on March 16th, 2019: All About LUV' (past, present, future and more): Patty Brard signs a 4-year contract with Talpa Network (luvgirlgroup.blogspot.com)

In the meantime, due to her numerous TV projects, the former Luv' singer earned a fortune. Lean years are over! Currently, two companies, launched by Miss Brard, are registered in the local Chamber of Commerce: Extreme BV and Hupsakee BV. Patty is the only shareholder of both companies. Hupsakee's assets were worth approximately €86.000 in late 2018. Net assets of Extreme B.V (specialized in the production and the presentation of TV programs) grew to €900.000 euros in late 2019. Moreover, Patty and her husband Antoine own a beautiful house in Amstelveen which is worth about 2.4 million euros. The bad days of Patty's bankruptcy in the 1990s are a distant memory. La Brard has reached millionaire status due to all her businesses.

Patty Brard responds to alleged argument with Jan Versteegh

Jan Versteegh and Patty Brard on 6 Inside in 2019

Two years ago, Patty Brard and Jan Versteegh worked on SB6's infotainment program "6 Inside" which flopped. Less than six months after its debut, the final episode of the TV show was broadcast on June 28th, 2019 due to its weak viewing figures.

Dutch media news site "Mediacourant.nl" mentioned tensions between Patty and Jan. Read the article posted on May 11th, 2019: All About LUV' (past, present, future and more): Tensions between Jan Versteegh and Patty Brard on "6 inside" (luvgirlgroup.blogspot.com)

Recently, Weekend Zomerspecial (Weekend Magazine's summer edition) published an interview with Patty Brard. On this occasion, the former Luv' singer reacted to this alleged argument. "Jan and I click. I think it's crazy that people say it. I wonder where the rumours come from. Maybe people tried to find a reason for 6 Inside's failure. We had nothing to do with this flop. It was due to wrong programming. We did our best. Some may think we couldn't stand each other. It's not true. Jan is a really nice guy," the diva said.

Patty Brard reacts to the rumours of her separation from her husband

In the June 30th episode of the entertainment news show RoddelPraat on YouTube, Dutch media personality Jan Roos discussed rumours about Patty Brard and Antoine van de Vijver's separation. The following week, the lovebirds even graced the cover of Story magazine with a sensationalist headline that said: "Rumours of separation: who wants to destroy Patty Brard's marriage?". Jan Roos was interviewed by Story. "Patty or her husband didn't tell me anything. I've heard the story about their separation from a reliable person from Patty's entourage," he said.

Jan Roos gossiping about Patty Brard on RoddelPraat

La Brard recently reacted to this gossip. "This is provocation from Jan. But I can tell you that Antoine and I are not getting a divorce. That's bullshit. A divorce is never going to happen. No, I'm not going to take any action against Jan. I let it go," the diva told Story

On July 17th, in response to the rumours, the former Luv' singer posted on social media a beautiful picture of herself with Antoine, her daughter Priscilla and her two dogs Bibi and Bobbie in Ibiza.

RoddelPraat & Story: rumours about Patty & Antoine's separation

As a showbiz expert on SBS6's entertainment news program Shownieuws since 2007, Patty Brard has been gossiping a lot about Dutch and international celebrities. Being a celebrity herself, the diva must accept that other media do the same to her in return.

The "Patty Patty Patty" section of the June 30th episode of RoddelPraat on YouTube (hosted by controversial media personalities Jan Roos and Dennis Schouten) dealt with rumours about Patty Brard and Antoine van de Vijver's separation.

In 2014, the lovebirds got married. Read the article posted on September 15th, 2014: All About LUV' (past, present, future and more): Patty Brard and Antoine van de Vijver....Just Married!!! (luvgirlgroup.blogspot.com)

La Brard has often expressed satisfaction with her husband in interviews.

According to Jan Roos, the relationship between the former Luv' singer and her spouse is in danger.

Patty and Antoine even graced the cover of last week's issue of Story magazine with a headline that said: "Rumours of separation: who wants to destroy Patty Brard's marriage?". Jan Roos was interviewed by Story. "Patty or her husband didn't tell me anything. I've heard the story about their separation from a reliable person from Patty's entourage," he said.

So can Jan Roos' revelation be taken seriously? His popular entertainment news show on YouTube is a parody of sensationalist TV programs like RTL Boulevard and Shownieuws

Patty Brard discusses her mother's death in Weekend magazine: "Now I realize she's gone"

Patty Brard graces the cover of the latest issue of Weekend Magazine.

In late May, her mother Gerda passed away. Read the article posted on June 1st, 2021: All About LUV' (past, present, future and more): Patty's farewell to her mother (luvgirlgroup.blogspot.com)

"Now I realize the death of my mom. I've stayed in bed all day long," the diva tells Weekend

Last year, the former Luv' singer reunited with her mother and daughter PriscillaIn the last months of Gerda's life, Patty did her best to enjoy every good moment with her. She often shared her joy on social media and in interviews.

Patty is satisfied with her mother's funeral. "My brother and I were very busy with it. It was beautiful. You know how perfectionist I am so I planned everything. The flowers, the music, etc...Our best friends and family members were there and our dear Richard Groenendijk sang Karin Bloemen's Geen Kind Meer. Priscilla, my sister-in-law Lida and my brother Dennis made beautiful speeches about our mother," the Shownieuws star explains.

Just after the funeral, Patty, her husband Antoine and their dogs flew to Ibiza to recover from their emotions. Miss Brard was supposed to undergo a bunionectomy but she cancelled this operation due to her mother's passing.

The grieving process has started recently. "I realized her absence last weekend. I was alone and suddenly I felt bad. Usually, on Sundays, I visited my mother...I stayed in bed and I felt so sad. That's just the way it is...,"she says.

Patty's bunionectomy has to be rescheduled. "I have to do it. I suffer from pain in my feet. Sometimes walking is so difficult. After the summer, nice things are planned with Talpa so it's better if the pain is over. Shownieuws will go on in the summer and I am working on the new collection for Kruidvat. Such an operation is hard to schedule due to my hectic agenda. So next week I'll have to arrange it," she asserts.

Patty Brard in Party: the diva's relationship with her daughter in danger again?

Priscilla Nasi & Patty Brard during the launch of the Kruidvat collection in an animal shelter in April

The latest issue of Party magazine features an article about Patty Brard

Recently, the SBS6 star discussed an ambitious project on the Shownieuws podcast she co-hosted with Bart Ettekoven: a TV series about her life. Indeed the diva has had many ups and downs since her debut with Luv' in 1977. Read the article posted on May 17th, 2021: All About LUV' (past, present, future and more): Patty Brard wants a series about her life (luvgirlgroup.blogspot.com)

The fact that she was reunited last year with her daughter Priscilla after 11 years without contact might be mentioned in the series. If it's the case, it might be dangerous for the relationship between mother and daughter. Unlike Patty, Priscilla doesn't want to be in the spotlight and doesn't appreciate her appearance on the high-rated reality show "Patty's Posse" in 2003-2004. The fact that La Brard is an unstoppable publicity seeker was one of the reasons the two ladies were not on speaking terms for a long time. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

Patty's farewell to her mother

On May 28th, Patty Brard posted on Instagram an emotional text by Jan Boerstoel to announce her mother's death that occurred the previous day. The sad news was immediately reported in the media (De Telegraaf, AD, RTL Boulevard, Shownieuws...). The diva's message was illustrated by an old photograph of the Brard family taken during Patty's childhood in the 1960s. Many followers and celebrities (including Samantha Steenwijk. Danny de Munk, Claudia de Breij, Bas Smit, Richard Groenendijk, Tooske Ragas and Bobbi Eden) expressed  their condolences.

May Gerda Brard rest in peace.

The May 29th edition of De Telegraaf featured an obituary:

Gerda Brard-Brüning was born on July 27th, 1929 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and later married Ferdinand Brard. The couple had four children: Dennis, Patty, Robert and Debby. At age 11, Patty and her family moved to Rijswijk, the Netherlands. Robert passed away at age 43 due to kidney disease in 2004. Patty's father died six years ago (read the article posted on February 5th, 2015: All About LUV' (past, present, future and more): Patty Brard's father dies at age 90 (luvgirlgroup.blogspot.com)

Gerda's death at age 91 came as no surprise as she suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. Patty hasn't appeared for days on SBS6's entertainment news program Shownieuws (where she works as a showbiz expert) to spend a good time with her mother. The TV personality was supposed to have a launch party for her summer collection at Kruidvat but this event was cancelled due to Gerda's passing.

She explained that she had been legally in conflict with her sister for five years and that she was not allowed to see her mother. She hired Dutch lawyer Bénédicte Ficq to find a solution.
