José meets Jesus Christ Superstar!!!!

Today's edition of De Telegraaf (Holland's most read newspaper) features a beautiful article about José Hoebee in its "Privé" section. Yesterday, Luv's lead singer met Ted Neeley (best known for his performance as Jesus Christ in the film "Jesus Christ Superstar" based on the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice rock opera of the same name in 1973).

"Privé" arranged a meet'n greet with Ted Neeley and Dutch fans (including José) in the Telegraaf buiding in Amsterdam. It was a dream come true for the Luv' lady. "I've been waiting for this moment for more than 40 years," the songstress said.

A new production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" (starring Ted Neeley) will tour the Netherlands in December and January. It explains the presence of the American entertainer in Holland.

José asked Ted many questions. One of them was: "You look very good. Have you been on a diet your whole life? What's your secret?'. His answer was: "I do everything in moderation. My wife Leeyan Granger (who appeared in the film "Jesus Christ Superstar") taught me some ballet exercises!".

Ted has been playing the role of Jesus 5000 times. José wondered if it was not a routine. "No, I'm not bored with it. It always feels like the first time anytime I play the role. It also has to do with the people. They give me energy and send me positives vibes. It's a spiritual experience when I'm on stage. Some come to me as if I was the real Jesus. They ask me to bless their children. Then I say: "I'm just a rock'n roll drummer from Texas with an extremely wide vocal range and I've been very lucky," he explained. 

"Others like when I touch their hands. I think it's fine. I've always liked physical contact. My mother called me "Teddy Bear"! I enjoy my chats with people after the performance. Eye contact is also important to me," he added.

Patty on "Celebrity Stand-up"

Earlier today Patty Brard took part in the taping of "Celebrity Stand-up", a new program on Comedy Central TV channel. The first episode of the show (hosted by Martijn Koning) airs on October 13th at 10.00 P.M and features twelve Dutch and Flemish celebrities who test their stand-up skills.

Patty celebrates her second wedding anniversary!!!

Today Patty Brard is celebrating her second wedding anniversary. Two years ago, the diva and Dutch architect Antoine van de Vijver exchanged their vows in Ibiza (see news posted on September 28th, 2014). Tomorrow the couple is flying to the Balearic island to have a party! The former Luv' singer is also going there to decorate her new house.

José @ "Van vroeger tot nu" show

José Hoebee will be performing at "De Kaasboerin", a restaurant in Mol/Postel, Belgium 

as part of the "Van vroeger tot nu" show during eight afternoons: November 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 14th; 15th, 16th and 17th!!!!

These concert dates were scheduled before the announcement of Luv's comeback. That's why José is presented as an "ex-Luv' singer" ;-) 

Other artists will be singing: former BZN singers Jan keizer & Anny Schilder as well as Kurt Crabbé and Ive Rénaarts.

In 2009, José and Anny formed a duo and recorded a beautiful cover version of "Be My Baby" (originally performed by The Ronettes in 1963). Their collaboration ended one year later when Anny preferred to work with her ex-BZN colleague.

Luv' @ Mega Piraten Festijn

Yesterday, the website of Dutch local newspaper "de Gelderlander" announced that Luv' were one of the acts which would be performing at the "Mega Piraten Festijn", a huge show at the GelreDome, the football stadium with a retractable roof in Arnhem, NL on December 10th. 

Among the other artists which will be present: Jan Smit, Frans Bauer, Marianne Weber, Bonnie St. Claire, Frans Duijts, Mr Polska...

Thijs Römer doesn't take Patty Brard's remarks too seriously

Thijs Römer is not impressed by Patty Brard's recent remarks. According to the SBS 6 diva, the Dutch actor took advantage of his friendship with RTL's director of programming Erland Galjaard to adapt his novel "Weemoedt" for television and to play the lead role (see news posted on September 21st, 2016). 

"I don't care about what she says," Römer tells Dutch online newspaper Nu.nl. "If only she had watched the series, her comments would have been valuable. It's rare that people dislike it or they criticize it behind my back. But I don't watch this kind of rubbish TV programs," he adds mentioning "Shownieuws" (SBS 6's entertainment news show featuring Patty as an expert).

Yesterday, Patty Brard appeared twice on SBS 6. 

• "Bonje met de buren" (trouble with neighbours) - co-hosted with Jochem van Gelder: the reality program drew 475.000 viewers (market share: 7.8%).

• "Shownieuws" (11.00 p.m edition with Renate Gerschtanowitz-Verbaan as the anchor and Koos van Plateringen as an expert): the entertainment news show attracted 556.000 viewers (market share: 15.4%).

Patty's column about Eva Jinek's reality series

Patty Brard's latest column for Weekend magazine deals with Eva Jinek and her reality series "De Verenigde Staten van Eva" (broadcast on KRO-NCRV/NPO 1). This program features the 38-year-old American-born Dutch journalist and television presenter who travelled through the USA to go back to her roots. Patty calls her a "nice person".

Patty Brard: "Römer took advantage of his friendship with Galjaard"

Thijs Römer is a 38-year-old Dutch actor who published a book entitled "Weemoedt" (melancholy) last year. This novel has been adapted for a TV series by RTL Nederland. Römer plays the lead role. According to Patty Brard, his prominent position is due to his friendship with RTL's director of programming Erland Galjaard. That's what the ex-Luv' singer told on SBS 6's entertainment news program "Shownieuws" two days ago. 

"As he was writing the book and before it came out, Erland Galjaard gave the green light to adapt it for television. Thijs Römer even became creative director at RTL Productions. Galjaard asked him to direct, produce and play the lead role. I think it's too much," the diva said.

Luv's photonovel (featuring Hans Klok)

Earlier today, the latest episode of Luv's photonovel was posted on Facebook. It features Dutch illusionist Hans Klok. Yesterday, the ladies attended his amazing show at the Royal Theatre Carré in Amsterdam (see previous post).

Here's a translation in English:

We all know that Luv's act has been a great success for so many years but to make it more spectacular the fearless Marga came up with a wonderful idea....

Marga: Look guys! With a bit of luck we'll be here with an eclectic show...

Marga: Girls, we're going to amuse the audience with conjuring tricks between songs...It's funny and it must not be difficult...

Ria: OK make me appear something handsome, a bit taller than I am and preferably with long and blonde curls

Marga: I know a trick and I'm going to explain it to Hans.

José: Once at school I used to do a trick with candles and a lighter...four days later they were still damping down the flames...Ha Ha!

Marga: I'm going to show you something great but please...don't steal it for your next show, ok?
