On September 25th, the fourth episode of the repair show "Zo Goed Als Nieuw" (hosted by Patty Brard) was broadcast on SBS 6. It drew 371.000 viewers (market share: 7.8%) and didn't enter SKO's Dag Top 25 (the daily list of the 25 most popular programs conceived by Dutch audience measurement company Stichting KijkOnderzoek).
The latest issue of Story magazine features an article about José Hoebee's recent trouble. Due to her burnout, the Luv' ladies were obliged to cancel their performances until late October (see news posted on September 15th, 2019).
"I'll do anything I can to heal," José said. Marga Scheide took the decision to stop the activities of the group. The two latest live shows in August ended in a catastrophe. José had to leave the stage because she did not feel well (see news posted on August 25th, 2019). She decided to discuss her current problems with Story. "I've been devastated since the death of my husband Will seven years ago. In the beginning, everybody understood this situation. But the sorrow has remained. I didn't want to talk about it. I didn't want people to think I always complained. I'm not the kind of person who annoys my friends. I've had psychological and blood tests. I've been queasy for months. That's why I've vomited. Most of the time I was well during the shows. Because I had to interrupt performances twice, Marga thought I had to rest. I've never given up my gigs. I've always wanted to go on." José explained.
"All our shows have been cancelled for a couple of months. Maybe it's going to take longer than that. It was a hard decision to take. Singing is my passion. When I sing I forget about my sorrow. But physically I was not OK. Fortunately, everybody supports me but I feel guilty. Because we had been busy. But I understand that I can't go on. I'll do my best to be in better shape. One of these days I'll start hypnotherapy. I don't know the effects of this treatment but it's one of my ultimate options. Maybe there's something going on with my stomach. But now it seems that I have burnout and I really need help," José added.

On September 18th, the third episode of the repair show "Zo Goed Als Nieuw" (hosted by Patty Brard) was broadcast on SBS 6. It drew 416.000 viewers (market share: 8.7%) and didn't enter SKO's Dag Top 25 (the daily list of the 25 most popular programs conceived by Dutch audience measurement company Stichting KijkOnderzoek).
On September 18th, the episode of SBS 6's reality show "Utopia 2" (which attracted 313.000 viewers (market share: 9.2%) featured a special moment involving Patty Brard. The ex-Luv' singer sent a surprise video message to Utopia contestant Merel who is a big fan of hers. The diva supported the young woman. Utopia is a format developed by John de Mol and follows a cast of 15 men and women who are placed in isolation and filmed twenty-four hours a day for a planned one year. The cast has to create their own society and figure out how to survive. Four seasons of this program were broadcast between early 2014 and June 2018 on SBS 6. Patty has always been an admirer of Utopia and even appeared three times on the show (in 2014, 2017 and 2018). On September 12th, Patty Brard gave an interview on RTL 4's program "5 Uur Live" (165.000 viewers/market share: 8.6%). She told that SBS 6 was planning a late-afternoon talk show with Gordon and her.
Earlier this summer, Gordon revealed that he taped a pilot with Patty (see news posted on July 7th, 2019). "There are a lot of rumours. We taped this pilot indeed and it's supposed to be broadcast in the late afternoon. Nothing has been confirmed yet," Patty said.
According to the ex-Luv' singer, Gordon is busy preparing this new TV project. "Gordon is going to meet Dr. Phil (the world-famous TV psychologist) to see how he hosts his program," Patty explained.
If SBS 6 decides to broadcast Gordon and Patty's talk show, it will surely be in competition with Tijd voor MAX on NPO 1 and 5 Uur Live on RTL 4.
But first, the duo will do something different. "We are going to travel for six weeks to find eternal youth via habits in foreign countries," Patty told. They are going to visit Thailand and the Philippines. "In these territories, they usually say: "if you bath with snakes, you'll have good skin," La Brard added.

On September 12th, record producer and Luv's father Hans van Hemert attended the release party of Bart Peeters' biography of Anneke Grönloh at the Royal Theater Carré in Amsterdam. The crème de la crème of Dutch producers and singers from the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s attended this event. In addition to Hans van Hemert and the author of the book, Ciska Peters, Ronnie Tober, Peter Koelewijn, Ria Valk and Willeke Alberti were present.

Anneke Grönloh was an iconic singer who passed away last year (see news posted on September 17th, 2018). Among the numerous artists who paid tribute to her was Luv' lady José Hoebee. She told in a message posted on Facebook that after the death of her husband, record producer Will Hoebee, in 2012, Anneke asked her if she wanted to come to her house in France in order to rest. José declined her generous offer although she appreciated it.
Last week's issue of Privé magazine featured a short interview with Marga Scheide conducted by Jan Uriot. The blonde Luv' singer discussed her recent meeting with Dutch record producer Hans van Hemert (see news posted on August 23rd, 2019) and her conflict with him over Luv's name that she trademarked in 1989.

Jan Uriot: Have you made up with Hans van Hemert?
Marga Scheide: We are not friends. We saw Hans all of a sudden during our show during Blaricum's funfair. At first, I didn't understand why he was there. If he was so angry at me, why was he in the front row? I later understood the situation. It was a kind of charm offensive. The author of his biography interviewed my Luv' colleague José Hoebee and me for his publication. Hans probably thought: "I'll be nice to the ladies. So they may tell nice things about me". I don't guarantee anything but the concerned persons will read it later. I didn't talk to Hans.
Jan Uriot: Hans consequently accuses you of theft, right?
Marga Scheide: I'm surely not a thieve. Hans knows it too. He forgot that in 1978 there was already a lawsuit about Luv's name. During the hearing it appeared that our manager at the time, Han Meijer, had the idea for the name of the group: Luv'. Han created the girl group, together with Piet Souer and Hans van Hemert. We were not satisfied with Han's work as a manager. After we fired him, he wanted to keep Luv's name and took us to court. Finally, we were allowed to be named Luv' because we had so much success with this name. I kept press clippings about this lawsuit. One headline said: "Luv' remains Luv" (see article posted on June 2nd, 2018).

On September 13th, Chimène van Oosterhout attended the private viewing of the "Album Sleeve Art" exhibition set up by Govert de Roos and Rens Benerink at the American Hotel in Amsterdam.

The front cover for José's solo album "The Good Times" (released in 1982) is also part of the exhibit. Chimène posed next to it for a photo.
Luv' and Govert have often worked together for 40 years. To make Luv's new line-up featuring Chimène public, the ladies chose Govert to photograph them in early 2019. These pictures were used by the Dutch tabloid press (including De Telegraaf).

Yesterday, José Hoebee's burnout which caused the cancellation of Luv's performances was mentioned on SBS 6's entertainment news program "Shownieuws". The sensationalist TV show drew 549.000 viewers (market share: 22,1%). Marga Scheide gave a phone interview to clarify José's situation. "She was not well during the two latest shows. We don't want to go on like that. She has lost a lot of weight and ate badly. She was not OK physically and emotionally. José's health is all that matters at the moment," the blonde Luv' singer told.
Yesterday, after days of inactivity, José Hoebee posted a message on her Facebook page to reveal she had a burnout. "After much thought, I've decided to tell what is really going on. As you probably know it, my husband (Will Hoebee) died seven years ago. I've always remained strong because I don't want to tell my problems to other people," she wrote.
Moreover, in recent years, José had also to face the deaths of her two best friends, folk singer Ad van Genechten and media personality Nelleke Koen. "I haven't always succeeded in being strong. But I wanted to go on. Being on stage with the girls in front of an enthusiastic audience is so nice. But recently I didn't feel well and it went wrong," she explained.
"Unfortunately, our live performances have to be on hold because I have to rest. When I'm on stage, I want to perform in good conditions. But at the moment, I can't do it. I hope that you understand and I do my best to be on stage again. I want to thank everybody for the nice messages and the support I've received. I really enjoy them," José added.
A few hours later, two articles were posted on the website of Holland's most-read newspaper "De Telegraaf". Here's what Brigitte Vis (director of the Jan Vis Booking agency) told the tabloid: "We have cancelled all the live shows until late October. José is undergoing medical exams and in mid-October, we will decide what to do. José has lost 20 kilos and is not well at the moment. During her last performance, she was not OK (see news posted on August 25th, 2019). Then we told her: "You have to do something!". She replied: "Yes but there are so many concerts which are booked. I've never cancelled a show!". We told her: "Your health matters!".
Marga Scheide was also interviewed by De Telegraaf. "We have to wait until José feels good again. We shall overcome," the blonde Luv' singer asserted.
Since September 5th, Luv's singles initially released by CNR/Carrere Records between 1979 and 1981 as well as the "Goodbye Luv" compilation have been available on Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer.CNR Music B.V (under exclusive licence from Hans van Hemert Productions B.V) owns the copyright on these recordings.
