Yesterday, the first episode of Patty Brard's program "Zo Goed Als Nieuw" was broadcast on SBS 6. It drew 435.000 viewers (market share: 9.2%) and did not enter SKO's Dag Top 25 (the daily list of the 25 most popular programs conceived by Dutch audience measurement company Stichting KijkOnderzoek). Although it is not a catastrophe, it is, however, a disappointment for Patty who promoted her latest TV project on the major Dutch media (including De Telegraaf - see the previous post). The ex-Luv' singer, who signed a 4-year contract with Talpa TV earlier this year, expressed her satisfaction about the latest TV ratings of SBS 6 which were good (in particular Chateau Meiland, Lingo and Man Bijt Hond). She thought she could also enjoy such success but it is not the case.
Zo Goed Als Nieuw has many similarities to Humberto Tan's TV show "The Repair Shop" on RTL 4 (whose original format was developed by the BBC in the UK). The concept: each episode follows craftspeople who restore three family heirlooms that have sentimental value for their owners. The craftspeople are professionals from around the country. On September 2nd, The Repair Shop attracted 586.000 viewers (market share: 12.2%) and reached #16 on SKO's Dag Top 25. So Humberto won the ratings war against Patty.
