Earlier this month, La Brard told on SBS6's entertainment news program Shownieuws that due to her age she would not be on the jury of the 2021 edition of these televised auditions for the new K3 member. Twelve years ago, the former Luv' singer took part in the first season of K2 zoekt K3.
"I would have liked to be on the jury, but I did not receive a call. I think they want someone younger," the 66-year-old TV diva said.
In 2017, the larger than life celebrity (who was overweight at the time) left SBS6 after a TV executive told her that "she was not fresh anymore". In other words, she was a victim of fat-shaming (see news posted on September 1st, 2017). Shortly afterwards, she underwent a gastric bypass and lost 40 kilos. Her appearance improved rapidly and she became attractive again on the small screen. In the meantime, she was freelancing for several TV networks. Two years ago, the signature of a 4-year deal with Talpa TV (which owns SBS 6, Net 5, Veronica and SBS9) felt like revenge (see news posted on March 22nd, 2019).
Now Patty is a victim of ageism and apparently considered too old to be on the jury of K2 zoekt K3. However, she is not vindictive. She explained on Shownieuws that she would watch the new season of the talent show including applicants of all genders and that she was curious to know if boys would be selected for K3's new line-up.
