Marga and Michiel in "Privé": "We haven't been to Yolanthe's lounge café yet!"

The latest issue of the celebrity gossip magazine "Privé" features a short article about Marga Scheide and her partner Michiel Gunning. The blonde Luv' singer has a second home in Ibiza but she has not been to Xaxa Restaurant (the lounge club of Dutch footballer Wesley Sneijder and his wife Yolanthe Sneijder-Cabau that opened recently). "It won't happen for the moment. On the weekend they opened their lounge café, my man Michiel and I, we flew back to the Netherlands. We'll go back there in October. In the summertime Ibiza is overcrowded and it's too hot," Marga explains.

Interview with José Hoebee on RietmanShow

Jan Rietman

On July 25th, José Hoebee gave a short phone interview on MAX/NPO Radio 5's RietmanShow (hosted by Jan Rietman). The singer (who had the flu) discussed her time with Luv'. "We've been busy for one year and a half in the country. It happened because of booking requests. Marga and me, we enjoy it. Ria Thielsch (who already replaced Patty Brard) joined us. We like what we're doing. There's nothing better than coming to a venue where everybody knows your songs. Our tracks are still played in discos. It's so good that everybody still likes us after 40 years," José explained.

When asked if Luv' still perform in their legendary outfits, José answered: "No we don't wear the same costumes because we are older. But we have outfits that are different from what we wear when we're in a supermarket. We have to look stunning. We don't sing in tee shirts and blue jeans".

Luv's classic hit from 1979 "Ooh, Yes I Do" was part of the playlist of the radio program.

Patty Brard on "Ranking the Stars": once again she disses Luv'!!!

BNN/NPO 3's panel game "Ranking the Stars" (hosted by Paul de Leeuw and featuring Patty Brard as a panelist) drew 499.000 viewers (market share: 8.9%) on July 23rd, 2017. Once again, the former Luv' singer couldn't help dissing her ex-colleagues. She showed a photo of the current line-up of the trio posing with a policeman backstage at a concert at the shopping center "De Els" in Walwijk, NL (see news posted on May 20th, 2017). She made silly jokes about their outfit and Ria Thielsch (who replaced her).

"Marga (Scheide) once trademarked Luv's name because she wanted to protect it. Then I looked at her and I thought: "why don't you go first to the hairdresser?" Patty said making fun of her haircut. "I've only had troubles with these "chicks"," she added (referring to her problems with the girl group).

It's always the same old song. At first, Patty publicly declares she doesn't want to talk about Luv' anymore but then she criticizes the group who made her the so-called "star" she is today.

Without Hans van Hemert this Schroevers secretary wouldn't have done a great career in show biz.

Moreover, Patty told Paul de Leeuw that she was never asked to participate in "College Tour". This NTR/NPO 3 program interviews the most high-profile Dutch and international guests. Inspired by town hall meetings during United States elections, the majority of questions are asked by the audience.

Luv' deja vu: Rihanna's outfit in the music video for "Wild Thoughts"

On June 16th, American musician DJ Khaled featuring Barbadian superstar Rihanna and Bryson Tiller released the single entitled "Wild Thoughts" (taken from Khaled's tenth studio album "Grateful"). This mid-tempo Latin-inspired track consists of Latin percussion, acoustic guitar lines and riffs that are heavily sampled from the 1999 hit single "Maria Maria" by American Latin rock band Santana

The song has become one of the biggest hits of this summer. It is a global sensation (#2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the USA, a Top 5 hit in Europe, #2 in Australia, many gold and platinum certifications around the world....).

As a Luv' fan, I noticed something special when I first saw Rihanna's short turquoise off-the-shoulder silk chiffon dress (designed by Alberta Ferretti) in the music video.

Music video for "Wild Thoughts" (already 187 million views on Youtube!!!)

I had a strong sense of déjà vu. The pop star's outfit reminded me of José Hoebee's costume for Luv's Greatest Lover in 1978.

Hans van Hemert in better shape after his accident

Earlier this month, we announced a terrible news: Luv's father and legendary record producer Hans van Hemert fell from a tree as he was cutting a branch in the garden of his house in Marthomis, France. He injured his back and was ferried to hospital in Montpellier by helicopter (see news posted on July 5th, 2017). Thank God Hans survived. He is obliged to wear a corset and needs time to recover.

On July 7th, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf mentioned Hans' accident in an article published in its "Privé" section.

After this incident, several pictures showing the Maestro in a better shape with friends and family (including his partner Willy) have been posted recently on Facebook.
