Hans van Hemert in Story: why he won't sue Marga Scheide

The latest issue of Story magazine features an article about Hans van Hemert, the songwriter and producer who launched Luv' more than 40 years ago. He has been in conflict with Marga Scheide for a long time due to the fact that she trademarked Luv's name in late 1989 "behind his back". However he won't sue his former protégée.

"At the moment I have something else in mind. I'm fighting against cancer. Even if it wasn't the case, I wouldn't have buried the hatchet," Hans said. "A couple of months ago I decided to let the situation how it was. I asked my lawyer not to sue Marga. I'm sick and tired of my problems with her. After I found ou what she had done I made several attempts to improve the situation," he added.

Marga reacted in Story: "I've never closed the door to Hans. In recent years we talked in order to work out our difficulties. Recently I met him at a tennis court. We spoke to each other and I had the feeling that Hans let go of everything".

On June 25th, BNN/NP0 3's panel game "Ranking the Stars" (hosted by Paul de Leeuw and featuring Dutch celebrities including Patty Brard) drew 562.000 viewers (market share: 9.5%).

On June 23rd, Patty Brard attended the opening party of Xaxa Restaurant, the lounge club of Dutch footballer Wesley Sneijder and his wife Yolanthe Sneijder-Cabau in Ibiza. The diva was charmed by Xess Xava (son of the successful couple) and even posted a picture on social media telling that he was the "most beautiful adoptive grandchild you can ever dream of":

Luv' @ Yesterdayland in Bobbejaanland

Luv' will be performing at the "Op Volle Toeren" podium as part of the "Yesterdayland" festival at the Bobbejaanland theme park in Lichtaart, Belgium on August 27th between 3.45 pm and 4.15 pm. This event is held in association with Hard Rock Café. 

The festival will take place on seven stages (60s stage, 70s stage, 80s stage, Op Volle Toeren Plein, Crooner Corner, The Movie Arena, History Theatre). In addition to Luv', other bands and singers will be present: The Rubettes, Jan Keizer & Anny Schilder (formerly of BZN), Pussycat feat. Tony Willé, Clout, Ellen Foley, Frans Bauer, Vader Abraham....

Luv's extravaganza @ Pretty In Pink XL

Yesterday, Luv' gave a flamboyant performance at the "Pretty In Pink XL" party (as a prelude to the gay event "Roze Zaterdag") on the market square in 's-Hertogenbosch, NL. The ladies even performed their Megamix (as a closing song) with drag queens.

Patty's column about "Beste Zangers"

Beste Zangers (2017 edition): MAAN, Anita Meyer, Jan Smit, Dennie Christian, Tommie Christiaan, Tania Kross, Kenny B and Brace MacDonald.

Patty Brard's latest column for Weekend magazine deals with AVROTROS music show "Beste Zangers". This program features famous Dutch singers who perform songs from each other's repertoire. The original artist judges the cover versions of his or her songs done by the other participants. The format has been used in several North European countries: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Lithuania and Estonia.

The 10th season of "Best Zangers" (hosted by Jan Smit) is currently broadcast and features Anita Meyer, Brace, Kenny B, Maan de Steenwinkel, Tommie Christiaan, Tania Kross and Dennie Christian.  

Anita Meyer (who already won the 2011 edition) is Miss Brard's favourite candidate.

The legendary girl group is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The article shows how the ladies (José Hoebee, Marga Scheide, Ria Thielsch and even ex-Luv' singer Patty Brard) looked like in their heyday and their appearance today.

Hans and José's tribute messages to Sandra Reemer

Dutch pop singer and TV presenter Sandra Reemer died two weeks ago and shocked the Netherlands (see news posted on June 6th, 2017). 

José Hoebee and Sandra respected each other. Both of them were part of Hans van Hemert's artist roster in the 1970s. 

On June 13th, an emotional memorial service for Sandra was held at Kasteel Maurick in Vught, NL and attended by family, friends and colleagues from the Dutch showbiz (including José and Hans).

Here's what Hans posted on his Facebook page:

"Dear Sandra, from 1967 to 1977 we made 17 top hits. Most of them with Andres (Dries). I remember your solo album "Trust In Me". I could enjoy the deep timbre of your voice. What a revelation! This revelation of your deep timbre happened with "The party's over". According to me we were the first to do it.....well at least at the Nationale Songfestival (Dutch preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest) :) Do you remember when you were angry at me because I launched another duo "Mouth & MacNeal"? Actually I liked it. This story showed your ambitious of becoming the best....Fortunately this feud didn't last and in 1972 we had an international hit with "Als het on de liefde gaat". I think we recorded it in four languages. What a shock that you're not here anymore. Rest in peace. It was a honour to know you and to work with you. Yesterday I felt that many people respected you at the memorial service at Kasteel Maurick. It was a moment full of love, respect and sorrow. With Love, Hans van Hemert."

"A beautiful memorial service....with friends and family of Sandra.....hard moment but strangely enough also pleasant after that....Sandra must have enjoyed it from heaven above....I hope that my man Will and her had a drink....I want to thank the family for allowing me to be here....Good night Sandra...."

"You're the Greatest Lover" on Qmusic's "Top 500 van het Foute Uur"

Dutch radio station Qmusic has revealed its list of the 500 kitschiest pop tracks of all time (excluding the Top 10 which will be revealed later). Luv' signature song "You're the Greatest Lover" has reached the 173rd position.

Patty on "De Wild in de middag"

On June 16th, Patty Brard gave a phone interview on Ruud de Wild's show "De Wild in de middag" on  KRO-NCRV/ NPO Radio 2. The diva answered questions as she was stuck in a traffic jam. She told that traffic jams didn't bother her anymore  and that she became wiser and calmer. 

Patty also discussed her occasionnal use of Botox and fillers and her participation on BNN/NPO 3's panel game "Ranking the Stars". She also explained that Ibiza was her base because of the hectic schedule of her husband who worked as an architect on the party island. 

After De Wild's conversation with La Brard, Luv's signature song "You're the Greatest Lover" was played. Isn't it funny? Patty refused indeed to be remembered as a former member of Luv'.
