In her latest column published in Weekend magazine, Patty Brard expressed her disappointment about the poor viewing figures of RTL 5's "Echte Meisjes op de Prairie". Last October, the diva went to Utah to tape the program with ten former candidates from reality shows and had lots of fun with them. She wrote: "I double up with laughter every Tuesday evening at 9.30 pm by watching our adventures on the prairie. And every Wednesday I cry when I discover the viewing figures. What a drama! It is so unfair!"
Patty underlined the fact that the way youngsters watched television had changed. Because of Twitter and Facebook, the new generation know the elimination of a candidate long before its broadcast on the small screen. The teenagers also use "catch up TV" and "watch in advance" options on internet. According to Miss Brard, Stichting KijkOnderzoek should change its method of audience measurement to calculate the exact number of viewers.
