Patty Brard gets her Luv' gold and platinum records back!

Actor Rijk de Gooyer gave Luv' gold and platinum awards to celebrate the good sales of "You're Greatest Lover" and "Trojan Horse" on May 15th, 1979, at the Lido Club in Amsterdam.

Yesterday was a special day for Patty Brard. The former Luv' singer announced on social media (Facebook and Instagram) that she got her gold and platinum records back!!!

On March 30th, 1994, all her possessions were auctioned in The Hague, the Netherlands, due to her bankruptcy. Among them were the 11 gold and platinum singles and albums that she received between 1978 and 1980 as a member of Luv' with Marga Scheide and José Hoebee. The "King of Amsterdam Nights" Manfred Langer (owner of the iT Club) bought the gold and platinum certifications for 72.800 Dutch guilders. On November 21st, 1994, he died of cancer. Luv's gold records disappeared, and no one knew where they were after Manfred's death. A lot of stories about Patty's lost gold records circulated within Luv's fan community.

Recently, Dutch DJ and record producer Ronald Molendijk (Patty's colleague on Shownieuws) and media expert Jaco Peeringa made the diva's dream come true. They arranged to make copies of Luv's gold and platinum records.

Screencaps of Patty's story on Instagram:

La Brard also expressed satisfaction on yesterday's edition of SBS6's entertainment news program Shownieuws which drew 392.000 viewers (market share: 16.8%). "I'm speechless. It was so difficult to get new copies from Universal. They had to check how many records were sold at the time. Then I said to myself: "What am I doing? I am an idiot. Look at your future!". I decided to forget my past with the group. Then friends of mine secretly arranged to make copies of the gold records. They gave the organization in charge of certifications all the information about the record sales. Today I received my mother's ashes - it was an emotional moment - and also the gold records. I've had a wonderful day. I shouldn't have ordered these records because I received them due to my hard work with the group. You're supposed to get them from somebody else. My dear friend Jaco could arrange it. I am so grateful," Patty said.

Following this special news, my dear Luv' friend Martin Vink posted a message about it on his Facebook page. He illustrated his text with a picture of Patty's gold records and an article published in a local newspaper Bodegraafs Nieuwsblad on July 1st, 1999. Martin explained that he and fans bought a tea set that belonged to Patty's daughter Priscilla during the above-mentioned auction. Martin appeared on one of Patty's TV shows to give the tea set back to her. What a generous act!!! The Prima Donna promised Martin and the fans to meet them on several occasions. To this day, this meeting never happened.

Last year, Patty told unpleasant stories about Luv' in her biography. Read the article posted on April 27th, 2020: All About LUV' (past, present, future and more): Patty Brard's book: what the ungrateful diva really tells about Luv'... (luvgirlgroup.blogspot.com)

As an influential TV personality, she has often used several platforms to diss her ex-Luv' colleagues and tell horrible things about her past with the girl trio. The truth is that the SBS6 star cannot forget her years with Holland's greatest female pop group. The fact that she is so happy about the gold records proves that, in secret, she is proud to be a former member of a successful 1970s and 1980s pop act. Patty will never admit publicly that she would never have been the celebrity she is today without Luv'. Luv' was her breakthrough.

The Luv' ladies received 15 gold and platinum certifications between 1978 and 2007. Marga Scheide and José Hoebee keep them at home. Click here to see all the Luv' awards.
