Here are the latest viewing figures of SBS6's entertainment news program Shownieuws (featuring Patty Brard as a showbiz expert):
- December 13th: 521.000 viewers/market share: 18,5%
- December 16th: 368.000 viewers/market share: 11.1%
- December 21st: 375.000 viewers/market share: 11.3%
During the December 16th edition, Patty Brard criticized her former colleague, TV personality Bridget Maasland. Recently, Bridget's ex, André Hazes Jr. proposed to Monique Westenberg. Bridget was asked to react to this news during an interview on Radio 538. "Oh, that's nice! I am really happy for them. Seriously. I am curious to know who he will propose to next year. Otherwise, I think it's great news. Ha, ha ha," Bridget said ironically. Patty didn't appreciate her comments. "Trying to ruin André and Monique's happiness this way is a bit childish. You lost the game. Last year, you were looking for your wedding dress. I understand you feel like a loser but let these people enjoy their marriage," La Brard told. Patty's anger started earlier when Bridget posted a photo on Instagram that went viral. In response to the lockdown that was decided recently in the Netherlands due to the Covid-19, Bridget posted a picture of a naked woman on a sofa. Patty didn't like it and thought it was not appropriate to do it just after the announcement of André and Monique's engagement. It was not the first time that the former Luv' singer attacked Bridget. She was furious after Maasland misbehaved at her wedding party in 2014. According to the SBS6 star, a lot of her guests witnessed what really happened between the blonde TV personality and André. Bridget's underwear ended up around her ankles. This incident was even mentioned in Patty's bestselling biography published earlier this year (see news posted on April 23rd, 2020).

Moreover, according to a recent article published in Party, Patty and her Shownieuws colleague Albert Verlinde are not on good terms. Last month, Verlinde and Connie Witteman (formerly known as Connie Breukhoven and Vanessa as a successful singer in the 1980s) had a fight in the media (see news posted on November 10th, 2020). Patty considered that Albert's words about Connie were "hurtful" and "negative" and that he should apologize to her on TV. The Shownieuws producers make sure that the two entertainment experts are not often together on air. Albert and Patty's tensions started in 2005 after Verlinde made bad comments about Miss Brard on RTL Boulevard. The larger than life diva wanted to discuss their problems on camera but Albert escaped. This story was told in Patty's memoirs. In her book, she also explained that her collaboration with "Aunt Verlinde" (that's how she nicknamed him) on SBS6's infotainment program 6 Inside in 2019 was a failure. According to the ex-Luv' lady, Albert took himself too seriously and never shared showbiz news with anyone because he was afraid that someone would steal it.
On yesterday's edition, Patty defended her friend, pop singer and TV host Gordon who had been stuck in South Africa due to a flight ban decided by the Netherlands related to a new variant of the COVID-19 virus. Dutch media news website Mediacourant.nl considered Patty's words as hypocritical. Last summer, she wanted strict anti-Covid-19 measures for everybody (see news posted on July 18th, 2020). She later caused controversy after she danced with Dyantha Brooks without respecting social distancing after being in quarantine (see news posted on August 29th, 2020). When it comes to her showbiz friends, Patty seems to be permissive.
