Patty Brard's book on Dutch bestseller lists

On March 25th, as Patty Brard celebrated her 65th birthday, the tell-all book entitled "Patty: de negen levens van Patty Brard" (written by Michel van Egmond and Antoinnette Scheulderman)  came out.

This publication generated lots of publicity (see news posted on March 25th, 2020). In her biography, the diva mentioned her ex-Luv' colleagues (Marga Scheide and José Hoebee who reacted to her criticism - see previous post), her former Pygmalion Hans van Hemert, Ralf Inbar (with whom she co-hosted the high-rated hidden camera TV show "Bananasplit" on TROS in the 1980s), Patricia Paay, Bridget Maasland (with whom she worked on "Shownieuws" on SBS6), Gordon and many other celebrities.

The press published controversial excerpts from this book. This strategy paid off: the biography entered earlier this week the major bestseller lists in the Netherlands: #4 on De Bestseller 60 (a list by the Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek ("Collective Promotion for the Dutch Book") representing Dutch bookstores and publishers), #3 on the AKO Literatuur Lijst, #2 on the Bruna Top 10, #5 on Libris.nl (Top 10 Non-fictie), #2 on Primera.nl, #4 on The Read Shop Top 50, #3 on Paagman.nl  and #17 on Amazon.nl (Bestsellers in Biografieën & memoires)

As the SBS6 star is on total lockdown in Ibiza, Michel van Egmond and Antoinnette Scheulderman keep on promoting their latest book in the media and columnists have written about it (AD, Dagblad van het Noorden, De Limburger, Het Laastse Nieuws...).
