Yesterday, Luv's breakup was announced by the group's management (see news posted on February 7th, 2020). The Dutch media (including De Telegraaf, AD, Libelle, Story, Libelle and Weekend) covered this bad news on their websites.
Moreover, this touchy issue was also mentioned twice on Dutch television:
- SBS6's entertainment news program "Shownieuws" in its early evening edition (111.000 viewers/market share: 3.8%) and late evening edition (361.000 viewers/market share: 9.6%).
Chimène van Oosterhout was disappointed. "This is the end of Luv'. What a pity. One year ago exactly, we were back for good in the Netherlands," she told Shownieuws. "We had to cancel live shows due to José's ill health. That's why we stopped," she added.
- RTL 4's infotainment news program RTL Boulevard which drew 820.000 viewers (market share: 20.2%) - click here to watch it (the item about Luv' appears at 8:48).
Marga Scheide gave a short phone interview. "José told us that she could not go on. Then together we decided to stop. Previously I sensed that it was inevitable. We hoped that she would be better but it didn't happen," Marga explained.
