The crowdfunding for the reissue of the Herinnering album by Bonnie & José started last week (see news posted on January 20th, 2020). Four days later, the "Herinnering" Facebook page (which promotes this initiative) announced that the target was reached and that the album would be released on CD/DVD. Fans can still support the project on the crowdfunding website: click here to donate until February 24th. Bonus material might be added thanks to the additional benefits.
In December 1985, RCA Records initially put out "Herinnering". The LP consisted of Dutch cover versions of ABBA songs recorded by Bonnie St. Claire and José Hoebee. This opus featured two Dutch Top 40 hits: "Cassandra" and "Zoals Vrienden Doen" (The Way Old Friends Do).
The new edition of Herinnering will also contain a bonus DVD with the TV special 'Bonnie & José in Sweden' (originally broadcast on May 27th, 1986 on NCRV and taped in Stockholm and the surrounding area). Click here to read an article about the special.
Earlier today, the initiator of the project, Franklin van Liempt gave a phone interview on Anton van Stekelenborg-Poirters' radio show "Maandag Middag Matinee" on Omroep Helmond. Click here to listen to it (Franklin appears at 10:22). He confirmed that Bonnie & José's album would be reissued in the second semester of 2020 and that one bonus track would be added. He explained that he had been busy with this project for three years.
