Despite her hectic schedule with Luv', José Hoebee always has time for her friends and fans. Her latest monthly lunch took place at the Ambacht café-restaurant in Best, Netherlands on May 29th. José's sister Ingrid de Groot, tour manager David Hay Gibson, Jos Theuns and Yvonne Bal enjoyed a nice moment with the Luv' singer.
Ibiza is Marga Scheide's second home. Last weekend, the blonde Luv' singer attended the wedding ceremony and party of her dear friends Ger Valkenburg and Dyon Hagenaars (of DC Models) on the Balearic Island.

Marga even gave an impromptu performance of a Luv' medley with Dutch singer Samantha Steenwijk during a party on a boat. Samantha reached fame and fortune after she took part in the TV talent shows "Bloed, Zweet & Tranen" (2013) and "The Voice of Holland" (2017).
* On May 21st, Chimène van Oosterhout and her friend, media personality Tanja Jess attended the Dutch premiere of "Rocketman" (a biographical musical film based on the life of Elton John) at Pathé Tuschinski in Amsterdam. The dress code for this event was "extravagant chic". The Luv' singer wore a beautiful glittery dress on the red carpet. Many celebrities were present. Among them were Giel Beelen, Mayday, Gerard Ekdom, Toine van Peperstraten, Marijke Helwegen, Imanuelle Grives and Janice.
Pictures of Chimène and Tanja were published in the latest issue of Weekend magazine.

* On May 24th, Talpa Network announced that SBS 6's infotainment program "6 Inside" (featuring Patty Brard as a showbiz expert) would stop on June 28th due to bad TV ratings.
Patty appeared on the May 22nd broadcast with Albert Verlinde and Jan Versteegh. The program drew 132.000 viewers (market share: 4.4%).

* In an interview published in Story magazine on May 15th, Patty told that her biography (written by Michel van Egmond and Antoinnette Scheulderman) would be a "tell-all" book. The publication is supposed to come out next year when the diva celebrates her 65th birthday. The larger than life TV personality promised that she didn't avoid painful issues. "When you publish such a book, you have to be honest. And that's what I'm going to do. I don't know if people are afraid or nervous about it but one thing is sure: I will tell everything", Patty said.
One of the subjects that will be discussed is her difficult relationship with her daughter Priscilla. She will also reveal why she didn't sign a deal with RTL Nederland. Earlier this year, she was supposed to sign a 3-year contract with the TV network but at the last moment, it did not go through (see news posted on January 23rd, 2019). Rumour has it that Peter R. De Vries wanted to veto her participation on RTL Boulevard. In the past, the two media personalities were not on good terms (see news posted on January 3rd, 2017). "If I give up an important deal, of course, I do it for a good reason. I would be crazy not to accept it. It has got to do with some people who disappointed me. I will mention this story in my book," Patty told.
The biography will surely include a chapter about Luv' which made La Brard a household name and facilitated her TV career. The former Luv' singer will surely criticize Marga Scheide and José Hoebee as well as Hans van Hemert, the record producer who launched Holland's greatest girl group in 1976.

* On May 18th, Dutch singer Duncan Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest with his song entitled "Arcade". The Netherlands had not won the competition since 1975. Patty congratulated the winner on social media. But she didn't appreciate Emma Wortelboer (Dutch spokesperson at the ESC 2019). She strongly condemned the special way Wortelboer announced the 12-point score from the Netherlands and how she expressed satisfaction when the final result was known.
Here's what Miss Brard said about the 22-year-old TV presenter on SBS 6's entertainment news program "Shownieuws" on May 19th (419.000 viewers/market share: 11.3%): "We are the Netherlands, we were represented for 30 seconds by someone who acted like an idiot, Emma Wortelboer. I regret it very much. Please give a good image of our country. Don't give the impression that we are a land of fools. And don't talk about yourself when you announce the 12 points...Who is your dealer? Please stop it! ".
Being a spokesperson was a dream come true for Emma. During her brief intro speech watched by 182 million viewers across 40 countries, she was very enthusiastic and even dissed the Queen of Pop who gave a mediocre performance at the ESC ("I'm so thankful for tonight and for Madonna's autotune"). After Duncan's triumph was confirmed, the young woman overreacted, cried and was shaking like a leaf. It was indeed an embarrassing moment.

The trio was interviewed on the Dutch TV channels Omroep Flevoland and SBS 6:
Moreover, the latest issues of the celebrity gossip magazines "Privé" and "Weekend" feature article about Luv's recent trip to Miami where the ladies recorded a new single (see news posted on May 14th, 2019).
An exclusive video has recently been posted on YouTube: Luv's very first TV performance on the TROS show "Disco Circus" (hosted by Ferry Maat and produced by John de Mol), broadcast on May 20th, 1977. The original Luv' trio sang the debut single entitled "My Man". Penney de Jager did the choreography for the song.
The ladies explained in interviews that the audition for the TV program was a bit humiliating. They had to perform their track in John de Mol's office. During the audition, the Dutch media tycoon didn't look at the girls because he felt uncomfortable. The three singers first thought that he was arrogant. It appeared later that the TV producer was embarrassed because of the way the audition was held. Out of respect for Luv', he could not look them in the eyes.
The lyrics of "My Man" (which dealt with a railroad man who was shot and died) shocked the Netherlands because around the time of its release, a hostage-taking occurred in a train in De Punt. Despite this controversy and a radio boycott, this ABBA-esque single peaked at #12 on the Dutch Top 40 and #10 on the Flemish BRT Top 30 in 1977.

Yesterday, Chimène van Oosterhout was interviewed by Toine van Peperstraten on NPO Radio 2 late-night show "'t Wordt Nu Laat". The multi-talented media personality discussed many subjects (her childhood in Curaçao, her arrival in the Netherlands at age 7, her debut as a model, her career on TV (TROS, Veronica, RTL), her recruitment as a Luv' singer, yoga, psychology...). As a polyglot, she would love to present the next edition of the "Eurovision Song Contest". Next year, the European music competition will take place in the Netherlands thanks to Duncan Laurence's victory.
Chimène about her ambition of presenting the ESC
Chimène & Toine
Of course, Chimène mentioned Luv's recent collaboration with Keith Morrison, Manuel Garrido-Lecca and Henk Schorel in Miami, Fl. "It was an honour to be there. It was impressive to see these men working in the studio. They want to record an album with us in September," she explained. "Miami is a city of music. Our new single will be in a reggaeton-pop style and will soon be released," she added. She also paid her Luv' colleage José Hoebee a compliment. "José is a fantastic singer, one of Holland's best vocalist," she said.
Messages of intimates (including actress and TV presenter Tanja Jess, her son Lyam and his girlfriend) were broadcast during the radio show.
Chimène told that in addition to her activities with Luv', she was busy developing a TV format but didn't reveal the content of it.
The playlist of the program featured Chimène's all-time pop-rock favourites performed by Simon & Garfunkel, The Police, Annie Lennox, Doris Day, Phil Collins, John Lennon and The Killers.
The Luv' lady dedicated the pop classic "You Don't Own Me" by Dusty Springfield to the group's tour manager David Hay Gibson (who had the pleasure to know the iconic British singer and who runs her official fan club on Facebook).

* The ladies were between May 9th and May 16th in Miami, Fl to record new material with producers and sound engineers Keith Morrison and Manuel Garrido-Lecca at the Legacy and Kokopelli Sound Studios (see news posted on May 14th, 2019). Henk Schorel, CEO of the multimedia company "Viva Canal", helped to coordinate this project. The group might be back in the USA in fall to record a whole album.
In addition to the recording sessions, Luv' also gave interviews to American TV channel CBS and the Latin American TV network Azteca.
The trio also posed for photos for their sponsors and partners: Dutch travel agency D-Reizen, Yanini's shield of Genesis, clothing brand Typical Jill and shoe brand Kop en Staart.
On May 16th, Henk Schorel and Keith Morrison kindly took the ladies to Miami International Airport for their return trip to the Netherlands.
On May 17th, Holland's most read newspaper De Telegraaf published an article entitled "Luv' work on the 2019 summer hit in Miami" and written by Jan Uriot. Click here to read it. "Our intention is to release a new album but we start with a Latin song. We hope it will be a real summer hit," the singers told. The trio visited Gianni Versace's mansion in South Beach where the notorious Italian fashion designer was shot dead in 1997.
