Interview with José in "STARS OF 80s DANCE POP"

In 2013, American author and Facebook friend James Arena published "First Ladies of Disco", a wonderful book telling the stories of 32 female Disco stars (including Claudja Barry, Evelyn "Champagne" King, Kelly Marie, Anita Ward, Miquel Brown, Evelyn Thomas, Martha Wash, The Ritchie Family and Linda Clifford - see news posted on September 5th, 2013).

One year later, James released "First Legends of Disco" (40 iconic artists and bands from the disco era, including Alfa Anderson (formerly of Chic); Ed Cermanski and Robert Upchurch of The Trammps; Leonard "Butch" Davis and Joe Harris of Double Exposure; Joy Dorris of Lime; Jimmie Bo Horne; Geraldine Hunt; Carol Jiani; Janice Marie Johnson of A Taste of Honey; France Joli; Randy Jones (formerly of Village People); Shirley Jones (formerly of The Jones Girls) George McCrae; Bonnie Pointer; Warren Schatz; Debbie Sledge, Joni Sledge and Kim Sledge of Sister Sledge (see news posted on April 7th, 2014).

Since the publication of these books, James and some of the "Legends of Disco" have taken part in radio and TV interviews, signings and other events to promote this fabulous testimony of a unique period.

The majority of the above-mentioned singers, musicians and producers are American. For his follow-up book, James decided to pay tribute to European Dance-pop artists from the 1980s. "STARS OF 80s DANCE POP - THE EUROPEAN EDITION" will feature interviews with over 50 music legends (including Spagna ("Easy Lady", "Call Me"...), Sabrina Salerno ("Boys, boys, boys", "Hot Girl", "All Of Me"...), Caroline Loeb ("C'est La Ouate"), Desireless ("Voyage, voyage"), Fab Morvan of Milli Vanilli ("Girl You Know It's True", "Blame It On The Rain", "Girl I'm Gonna Miss You"), Leee John of Imagination ("Body Talk", "Just An Illusion", "Music and Lights"...), Liz Mitchell of Boney M. ("Daddy Cool", "Sunny", "Rivers of Babylon", "Kalimba De Luna"....), Hazell Dean ("Searchin' (I Gotta Find a Man)", "Whatever I Do (Wherever I Go)", "Who's Leaving Who"), Yazz ("The Only Way Is Up"), Jo Bogaert of Technotronic ("Pump Up The Jam", "Get Up (Before The Night Is Over)", "Move This"...), Taco ("Puttin' On The Ritz"), Mai Tai ("Body and Soul", "History", "Female Intuition"...), Hollywood entertainer Mel Brooks ("It's Good To Be The King", "To Be Or Not To Be (The Hitler Rap)"...).

Today, James has made this wonderful annoucement on Facebook:

"José Hoebee played a magnificent role in history of European 80s dance-pop. Not only was she the key vocalist with the hugely popular group Luv', she enjoyed huge solo hits in her native Holland, including the singles "I Will Follow Him" and "Secret Love." José is interviewed in-depth in the forthcoming book STARS OF 80s DANCE POP - THE EUROPEAN EDITION....available worldwide in just a few weeks".

Great news!!! José belongs to the crème de la crème!!!

The publication date of "Stars of 80s Dance Pop" has not been confirmed yet.
