On December 30th, José Hoebee was interviewed by Govert van Brakel for the radio show "Plein 5" on NCRV/Radio 5 Nostalgia. The singer evoked memories of "Wisseloord Studios" in Hilversum. Luv' songs, José's solo tracks and her duets with Bonnie St. Claire were recorded there. Wisseloord is a pleasant workplace and is located in the middle of the woods. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, it consisted of five studios and Phonogram offices. José told anecdotes about the artists who recorded at the same time as her: Elton John (though she never met him, her husband Will found his "Golden" credit card and gave it back to his manager; Elton sent Will a large bouquet of flowers with a note that said "Thank you for being so honest"), the former lead singer of UB 40 "Ali Campbell" (who showed his bottom at the canteen!), Kees van Kooten (José was a fan of his comedy duo with Wim de Bie and Kees asked her an autograph for his children). The songstress cherishes her time in Wisseloord with Luv's record producers Hans van Hemert and Piet Souer. Last year, Miss Hoebee worked there as a voluntary telephonist twice a week (see news posted on November 28th, 2012).
One of my Facebook friends, Karin Angeleyes, posted the interview on YouTube. I would like to thank her.
