SBS6's entertainment news program Shownieuws (featuring Patty Brard as a showbiz expert) drew 378.000 viewers (market share: 17.7%) on September 9th.
The diva defended Maxime Meiland (famous for her participation in SBS6's reality show Chateau Meiland). After BNNVARA announced that she would appear on Vier Handen Op Een Buik (including Dutch female celebrities supporting teen mothers), she received criticism on social media. The young woman was described as a spoiled child who was not the right person who could help teen mothers in need.
"Maxime gave birth to her first child when she was 21. She then lived on her own. She knows how to deal with this kind of situation. I even took part in this TV program when I was not on speaking terms with my daughter. Due to my experience, I knew what to advise to avoid problems....I think she is the right person to work for Vier Handen Op Een Buik. She is involved in several programs on SBS6. She is a TV host, a celebrity, and a nice and down-to-earth mother. She remembers how her life was before her family got wealthy," Patty added.
Since 2015, La Brard has appeared on several episodes of Vier Handen Op Een Buik.
