Luv' Déjà Vu by Typex on the cover of VPRO Gids

The latest issue of the Dutch TV guide VPRO Gids features a caricature of the female politicians Sylvana Simons (BIJ1), Lilian Marijnissen (SP) and Lilianne Ploumen (PVDA) as Luv' singers. This drawing was made by the renowned Dutch cartoonist Typex. In 2019, he won the Stripschapprijs, the most important Dutch prize awarded to comic creators for their entire body of work. He used the iconic front cover of Luv's album "Lots of Luv'" (Phonogram/Philips, 1979) as an inspiration for his caricature. The original picture of Luv's LP was taken by Claude Vanheye who photographed the who's who of pop and rock music (including Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, George Benson, Blondie and Tom Waits).
