Marga Scheide, José Hoebee and friends congratulate Liz Mitchell on her 50 Years In Music!!

Recently, Liz Mitchell, former lead singer of Boney M., celebrated her 50 years in the music industry. She started her career in 1970 in the Berlin cast of the musical ‘Hair’. In 1972 she became part of the successful Les Humphries Singers, and after quitting she received a phone call to join a new group which producer Frank Farian was forming. Liz gave it a try and soon Boney M. became one of the most successful groups in music history.

After the split of the original Boney M. line-up in the second half of the 1980s, Liz started her solo career in 1988, releasing her debut solo album soon after. Starting all over again after Boney M.’s split, Liz has worked her way up since, becoming a much demanded live act all across the world as Boney M. featuring. Liz Mitchell.

On December 21st, the talented vocalist gave a special live show on Facebook to celebrate her 50th anniversary. On the same day, a video including video messages from her showbiz friends and fans was posted on Liz' official YouTube channel. Marga Scheide and José Hoebee (formerly of Luv') were among the lucky ones who congratulate her on her 50 years in music!! The ladies often performed with Boney M. on the same TV shows (especially in Germany) and met backstage. The two groups conquered the same European charts.
