As you know from an earlier update, the addition of the television special to the ‘Herinnering’ CD/DVD release caused some delay. The special was produced for broadcast on television, but not with the intention of a commercial release. Regarding copyrights, it appeared to be a bit more complicated than all parties involved initially thought (record company, TV station and TV producer).
All problems have been solved. So nothing is in our way for a wonderful release. New Sense Media is the company which edited all video material. At that time, the special was produced in mono. New Sense Media added stereo sound to the TV special and improved all the colours, so it will sound and look amazing.
‘Cassandra’ is one of the biggest hits by Bonnie & José, but it was not part of the television special. The single was released by a different record company. We are proud to announce that a television performance of ‘Cassandra’ will be added as a bonus to the DVD!
The expected release date will be in November.
In December 1985, RCA Records initially put out "Herinnering". The LP consisted of Dutch cover versions of ABBA songs recorded by Bonnie St. Claire and José Hoebee. This opus featured two Dutch Top 40 hits: "Cassandra" and "Zoals Vrienden Doen" (The Way Old Friends Do). Click here to read a detailed article about the original release of Herinnering.
A crowdfunding campaign for the reissue of Herinnering was launched on January 20th. Four days later, the target was reached and it was announced that the album would be released on CD/DVD (see news posted on January 27th, 2020).
