Patty Brard on Shownieuws
May 12th saw Patty Brard's comeback on SBS6's entertainment news program Shownieuws as a showbiz expert (see news posted on May 15th, 2020). The diva had previously been in quarantine for almost two months in Ibiza due to the Covid-19.
Yesterday saw the broadcast of the live TV program "Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light", organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and produced by the Dutch broadcasters AVROTROS, NOS and NPO. It replaced the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, which was planned to be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, but was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The show was broadcast live from Hilversum, the Netherlands. It was hosted by three presenters: Actress and television host Chantal Janzen, singer and commentator for the contest Jan Smit, and singer Edsilia Rombley, who represented the Netherlands in the 1998 and 2007 contests. Beauty vlogger Nikkie de Jager, also known as NikkieTutorials, was the host of the show's online content. The TV program (which aired on AVROTROS/NPO 1 in the Netherlands) drew 2.370.000 viewers (market share: 39.5%).
Patty Brard commented about this special TV show on Shownieuws which attracted 609.000 viewers (market share: 13.6%). She appreciated Chantal Janzen's presentation but preferred Nikkie de Jager. "I think they did it well. But I think Chantal did it in a too conventional way. Anytime I watch NikkiTutorials, I say to myself: "yes, she's got it", Patty told.
The ex-Luv' singer also liked how the ladies were dressed. Chantal and Edsilia Rombley wore David Laport's dresses. "He did the Amsterdam Fashion Week, then he was less in the spotlight and later he was back for good thanks to PR," Patty explained. "We know David Laport because of the two extravagant outfits he made for Solange and Rihanna. Edsilia's dress was amazing and Chantal's one had a beautiful colour. I expected my favourite fashion designer Claes Iversen to dress the ladies but I have to admit that David did it very well. He is a crazy sensation in the fashion world but what he did tonight was very classy," La Brard added.
Nikkie de Jager had a Maison the Faux outfit. "I think she dresses with real flair," Patty said.
