Two days ago, Patty Brard posted a Facebook message about Dutch rapper Lil' Kleine.
"Can the parents of this Lil Kleine spanked this little boy please?....#arrogantandstupid," the diva wrote after his appearance on RTL 4's talk show "RTL Late Night" (hosted by Humberto Tan) on August 31st.
Lil Kleine's duet single with Ronnie Flex entitled "Drank & Drugs" has already spent 20 weeks on the Dutch Single Top 100 and peaked at #1 earlier this summer. It turned platinum in the Netherlands. To this day, the track is still on the Top 10. Moreover, it reached the 3rd position of the Ultratop in Belgium and has spent 10 weeks on the Belgian hitlist. Almost 16 million people have watched the music video for this song on YouTube. Even English-speaking media have discussed this phenomenon. This summer hit caused controversy in the Low Countries as some parents saw it as a glorification of drugs.
Morover, Lil Kleine's behaviour at a recent gig in Hilversum was big news in Holland. The extremely popular rapper asked his audience to show their middle finger and said: "this is for the police, justice, SBS 6 and RTL 4!". A sign of disrespect for local authorities and mainstream media. Lil' Kleine was arrested after the concert and rapidly released. At first, the Mayor of Hilversum wanted to ban him from his city but later made peace.
