Patty Brard's latest column for Weekend magazine deals with the new TV season in Holland. As a TV personality, the former Luv' singer has been active on the small screen since 1983. Recently, she extended her contract with SBS 6 for two years (see news posted on August 28th, 2015).
The diva is aware of the uncertainty of a career on television. If you're slim, blonde and young, life is easier as a presenter on a commercial channel. La Brard is an exception to the rule. The 60-year-old entertainer tells in her text that her new deal with SBS might be the last one.
Viewing figures are important for any TV host. Ratings war with other networks and programs is hard. RTL 4's talk show "RTL Late Night" is a serious competitor of the 11.00 pm edition of "Shownieuws". Moreover, Patty is curious about the way the viewers will react to "Thuis op Zondag" (presented by Kim-Lian van der Meij and Dirk Zeelenberg on SBS 6). Miss Brard will appear on this show with Carlo Boszhard.
Patty is happy to be busy with several projects for the coming months but she will also use her time to think about another career after television. Why not open a shop specialised in furnitures and decoration in Ibiza?
