Yesterday, SBS6's game show "The Wheel" (hosted by Rob Kemps) attracted 407.000 viewers (market share: 10.1%). The program lost the ratings war against VriendenLoterij Miljonairs on RTL 4 (702.000 viewers/market share: 17,3%), Matthijs gaat door on NPO 1 (586.000 viewers/market share: 14.3%) and Nieuwsuur on NPO 2 (429.000 viewers/market share: 10.4%). However, The Wheel reached #16 on SKO's Dag Top 25 (the daily list of the 25 most popular TV shows conceived by Dutch audience measurement company Stichting KijkOnderzoek). The panel game premiered on September 11th and drew 714.000 (market share: 17%). Last week, it lost 30% of its audience and attracted 565.000 viewers (market share: 11.9%).
Even Patty Brard's presence on the TV program could not save it. The former Luv' singer took part in The Wheel as an expert on Ibiza. It's no secret that the diva doesn't like TV quizzes. Earlier this year, her appearance on another SBS6's game show Deze Quiz Is Voor Jou was not a good experience. Patty also explained last year on Shownieuws that she would never participate in the highly popular KRO-NCRV's quiz show De Slimste Mens. However, Rob Kemps persuaded her to make one exception to the rule and to join The Wheel.
Unlike Catherine Keyl and Dennis van der Geest, who barely spoke, Patty frequently answered questions about the subject she was supposed to know very well: Ibiza. La Brard was too nervous, and she was the least successful celebrity on the game show. Due to her inefficiency, finalist Florian lost the game. He had hoped to win and to have a big party with his friends to celebrate his victory. Patty felt so sorry for Florian that she spontaneously offered to throw the party at her villa.
The Wheel is initially a British format broadcast on BBC One and is presented by Michael McIntyre.
