Earlier this evening, shocking news was announced: a message about the death of Willem Jan Van de Wetering was posted on his Facebook page. Actually, Van de Wetering passed away on July 27th, 2019 but the sad news was made public earlier today. He was the former general manager of the Dutch subsidiary of Carrere Records which released Luv's singles and albums between late 1979 and 1981. Previously, he followed the ladies as a founder and a journalist of the teen magazine "Hitkrant" in the late 1970s. Under his guidance, Luv' put out the farewell single "Tingalingaling" and the "Goodbye Luv'" compilation in the summer of 1981 (see article posted on July 22nd, 2016).

He later collaborated with José Hoebee on her most successful solo recordings (including "The Good Times" album featuring the smash hits "I Will Follow Him" and "Secret Love" in 1982). In later years, he was a personal development coach.
In 2015, Willem Jan Van de Wetering wrote the foreword of Peter Boonstra's controversial photo book "The Story Of Luv'" (see news posted on May 30th, 2015).
