"Oh, Wat Een Jaar" (feat. Patty Brard): winner of the ratings war!!!

Yesterday, RTL 4's retrotainment game show "Oh, Wat Een Jaar!" (hosted by Linda de Mol with Ruben Nicolai and Jeroen van Koningsbrugge as team captains) featured Patty Brard and TV personality Henny Huisman. It was the most-watched TV show in the Netherlands and reached Nr. 1 on SKO's Dag Top 25 (the daily list of the 25 most popular programs (conceived by Dutch audience measurement company Stichting KijkOnderzoek). "Oh, Wat Een Jaar!" drew 1.852.000 viewers (market share: 30.2%)

Yesterday's episode dealt with the year 1977 (when Luv' released their debut single "My Man").

Every major TV guides (KRO Magazine, Mikro Gids, AVRO Televizier, AVRO Bode, TV Krant, TV Film and TROS Kompas) mentioned Luv' and the game show:

Patty told a false anecdote about The Bee Gees (who reached their peak forty years ago with the soundtrack of "Saturday Night Fever"). "With Luv', we did a lot of international shows and we met The Bee Gees," she said. When Linda asked Patty if she "did it" with Barry Gibb, the former Luv' singer answered: "Me?....But Marga (Scheide) "did it" with Andy Gibb (the younger brother of The Bee Gees who passed away in 1988)." The diva acted as if this love affair was a secret whereas Marga had already discussed it on several occasions.

One day prior to the broadcast of the "Oh, Wat Een Jaar!", José Hoebee contradicted Patty's story of her so-called meeting with the Gibb brothers on her Facebook page without naming her ex-colleague:

"I've watched a trailer for a program that will be broadcast tomorrow. It has got to do with 1977. It is said that we met The Bee Gees...Well....We met a lot of famous people but we never saw The Bee Gees...I wish I met Barry...If it was true I would have reminded it...As for the secret that Marga "did it" with Andy Gibb....it's not a secret...She dated Andy...That's it...What's my point? Tragic....You say you have nothing to do with your past that made you famous and then you realize that you can't live without it...".

Moreover, one question of the game show was about Spanish girl duo Baccara (who had a huge hit "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" in 1977). "We met them. We appeared on a lot of TV shows in Germany. Boney M. and Baccara were also on these programs. They were not nice. We hung out with a group of artists but they never mixed with us," Patty explained.
