Patty's laudatory column about Samantha Steenwijk

Patty Brard's latest column for Weekend magazine deals with Dutch singer Samantha Steenwijk (who appears as a contestant on the latest season of  RTL 4's talent show "The Voice of Holland"). Anouk is her coach in the famous TV competition. Like Patty, Samantha grew up in Rijswijk (near The Hague, NL). During the blind auditions, she sang André Hazes' "Ik Leef Mijn Eigen Leven" (I live my own life). This song has been released recently and has already reached #1 on the Dutch iTunes-Top 20

Patty wrote in her text that she was sure that "Samantha would do well on The Voice and would surely reach new heights in the Dutch music world". She praises the young vocalist for her talent. The lady is experienced. In 2013, she took part in SBS 6's talent show "Bloed, Zweet & Tranen" (like ex-Luv' singer Carina Lemoine (see news posted on April 21st, 2013). Samantha finished third. Her single "Zonder Jou" (produced by Eric van Tijn (famous for his work with Mai Tai in the 1980s) peaked at #11 on the Single Top 100 in June 2013. Earlier this year, she made a guest appearance at De Toppers show at the Amsterdam ArenA
