Patty's column about Leontine Borsato

Dennis van der Geest & Leontine Borsato

Patty Brard's latest column for Weekend magazine deals with TV personality Leontine Borsato

The former Luv' singer has always been a fan of the Borsato family (in particular Mary and Leontine). When the diva went bankrupt in late 1993, Leontine lent her an apartment in Amstelveen, NL. Mary bought Patty and her daughter Priscilla beds. The Borsatos have never asked for something in return. Three years ago, Mary designed Patty's wedding dress.

When Leontine was asked to replace La Brard on SBS 6's reality program "Bonje Met De Buren", she sent a WhatsApp message to ask her if it was OK. Of course, Patty gave her blessing to her replacement and wished her lots of success.

Patty explains why she doesn't host "Bonje Met De buren" anymore. First of all, she didn't want to go on with someone else than her dear colleague Jochem van Gelder. Then this program (whose aim is to solve problems between neighbours) is tough because 50% of the candidates refuse to be filmed. Last but not least: Patty didn't like her last talk with Karin de Groot (director of SBS Broadcasting Netherlands) who told her that she wasn't good enough for "Bonje Met De Buren" although she hosted it for three years.

Patty also mentions a recent column by Angela de Jong in the newspaper "Algemeen Dagblad" in which she wrote that she preferred Patty's presentation of "Bonje" to Leontine's one.
