Today legendary German producer Frank Farian is celebrating his 75th birthday. His greatest brainchild was Disco-pop group Boney M. which scored hit after hit worldwide in the late 1970s (Daddy Cool, Sunny, Ma Baker, Rivers of Babylon, Brown Girl In The Ring...). He also produced many hits for other popular acts: Eruption (I Can't Stand The Rain (1978), One Way Ticket (1978), Milli Vanilli which caused the biggest lip syncing scancal in music history (Girl You Know It's True (1988), Girl I'm Gonna Miss You (1989), La Bouche (Sweet Dreams (1994), Be My Lover (1995) and No Mercy (Where Do You Go (1996), When I Die (1996).
His music influenced Luv' producer and songwriter Hans van Hemert. The Bouzouki and Balalejka-theme of Luv's Eeny Meeny Miny Moe is highly inspired by Boney M.'s Rasputin.
In late 1979 (or early 1980?), the pop maestro posed with the Luv' ladies for a backstage photo:
