Video: Patty Brard interviews David Bowie (1987)

Patty's conversation with David Bowie

David Bowie's death shocked the whole world earlier this week. May he rest in peace. He was the king of re-invention and his contribution to rock and pop music has been huge.

In 1987, Patty Brard hosted "Bingo", a music chart program on BRT in Belgium. For the purposes of this TV show, she had the opportunity to interview Bowie in Amsterdam. At the time, the artist was promoting his "Day-In Day-Out" single (taken from his 17th studio album 'Never Let Me Down'). The song criticised the urban decay and deprivation in American cities. Bowie discussed several subjects with Patty (his live performances, the situation of homeless people in Los Angeles, paternity....).
