Mister & Mississippi win an Edison Award!!!


Great news: yesterday evening Dutch folk band "Mister and Mississippi" won an Edison Award in the "Alternative" category. Congratulations!!!! Maxine Barlag is the lead singer of the group and is the niece of Ria Thielsch (Luv' member in 1980/1981). 


The ceremony took place at The Harbour Club in Amsterdam. In her acceptance speech, Maxine told that she had a tough time due to the recent death of her mother and dedicated the award to her.

This prestigious Dutch music prize is awarded for outstanding achievements in the music industry. It has crowned a tremendous year for the band. The debut album of "Mister & Mississippi" spent 27 weeks on Holland's Album Top 100 and peaked at #6. The quartet toured the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Last month, they even played at the "Dutch Impact Party" during the International Live Music Conference (ILMC) in London, UK and did gigs in Austin, Texas.
