Sandy Marton & Patty Brard at KU in Ibiza
Patty Brard has often hung out with celebrities in Ibiza since the 1980's. A rare picture from Pat's early years on the party island has recently emerged on a Facebook tribute page to KU (currently known as "Privilege Ibiza", the world's largest nightclub). The picture shows the former Luv' singer in her late 20's or early 30's. She is barely recognisable and has a B-girl look (à la Neneh Cherry, Leila K. or Daisy Dee). Italo disco artist Sandy Marton (who reached his peak with his 1984 european hit "People from Ibiza") is next to her.
Steve Strange (Visage), ? and Neal X (Sigue Sigue Sputnik) at KU
Patty tweeted me that in those days Steve Strange (of New Wave band "Visage" which had a massive hit in 1980 with "Fade to Grey") spent a summer in her house in Ibiza. They recorded a song together under the name "Double Trouble" which was produced by Roger Taylor of Queen. I couldn't find any trace of release of the record so I assume it never came out. What a pity!
