Dyantha Brooks and Patty Brard backstage at Shownieuws on August 21st
SBS6's entertainment news program Shownieuws is currently the only TV project which keeps Patty Brard active regularly on television.
On the August 14th broadcast, which drew 328.000 viewers (market share: 12.1%), the former Luv' singer discussed Johnny de Mol's new talk show "HLF8" on SBS6.

"I laughed terribly because the phone rang and I saw 'John de Mol' on the screen. I thought: oh no! And then I realized: oh no, it's Johnny de Mol! So I picked up. He knew we were going to announce his talk show here today, and he was pretty nervous about what we were going to say. What a sweetheart!" Patty said.
The diva praised Johnny. "He's very curious and always wants to surprise people. He's always surrounded by top teams. He has also been coached by Jeroen Pauw for a while, and that is the best thing that has happened to him," she told.
"Some people say: "He's Johnny de Mol, so his father helps him". Well, if he's not good, he is immediately criticized. Father and son are well prepared. I'm very confident. 7.30 pm is a perfect time slot for a talk show," she added.
On the August 20th broadcast of Shownieuws (394.000 viewers/market show: 16.6%), the Prima Donna mentioned Dutch weight loss consultant and writer Sonja Bakker accused of plagiarism by RTL Boulevard. This revelation caused a sensation in the Netherlands. "I tried to call her earlier today, and, strangely, she didn't pick up the phone. Usually, we talk easily. I think she's in panic," Patty explained.

On yesterday's broadcast (384.000 viewers/market share: 17.1%), Miss Brard defended Christina Curry (Patricia Paay's daughter). Recently, Christina shocked viewers when she cursed a lot and lost self-control on SBS6's celebrity competition "De Alleskunner VIPS". "This is quite intense. She just got death threats. One of them said: 'Commit suicide.' This girl is too sensitive. She's been through a lot of things. Maybe she shouldn't participate in these kinds of competitions," Patty said.
