Recently, the listeners of the Dutch local radio station Omroep Helmond were asked to vote for their 50 favourite songs performed by girl groups (see previous post). Their results of the Meidengroepen Top 50 were broadcast yesterday afternoon on the radio show Mandaag Middag Matinee (hosted by Anton van Stekelenborg-Poirters).
Good news: Luv's classic hit "Ooh, Yes I Do" reached #1 on this list as well as six other songs performed by Holland's greatest girl group: You're the Greatest Lover (#5), Ann-Maria (#10), U.O.Me (#19), My Number One (#27), Ooh, I Like It Too (#36) and Trojan Horse (#48). Congratulations ladies!!!
Other good news: Bonnie & José's iconic duet "Zoals Vrienden Doen" (a Dutch cover version of ABBA's The Old Way Friends Do) peaked at #40!!!
