Last month, Marga Scheide took everybody by surprise when she told De Telegraaf that she would join Flemish comedian Piv Huvluv on his Vinylvreter tour in autumn through Flanders, Belgium (see news posted on April 30th, 2020).
Recently, Flemish newspaper KW (De Krant van West-Vlaanderen) posted on its website an article about Piv Huvluv and Marga Scheide's collaboration (see news posted on May 8th, 2020).
The May 15th edition of KW included a detailed article about this unexpected project. "It's a great honour to share the stage with her," Piv told KW. "In my teen years, Luv' was a hot and successful Dutch girl group. Their songs were optimistic and joyful. They are good-looking women," he added.
"Girl groups with three ladies have always been a success in the music industry. In addition to Luv', Diana Ross & The Supremes, Boney M. or K3 are good examples. I wanted to put Luv' in the spotlight in my show. At first, I wanted the whole group but due to the illness of one of the members, it was not possible. Finally, Marga Scheide will be the only one to join me," the comedian said.
"Marga and I have been in touch for several weeks and I have to admit she is a nice lady. She was supposed to attend one of my shows but due to the coronavirus, it was cancelled. She hasn't seen me perform live yet. However, she has watched some videos online. My show will consist of three parts with Marga: at first, I will sing a song with her as a backup singer and then I will interview her. She will tell nice anecdotes about her Luv' years. Afterwards, we'll be performing Luv' songs and who knows? maybe we'll be singing a Bob Dylan track. It's a crazy idea because it's a totally different repertoire," Piv explained.
"I'm happy that Marga agrees with my ideas. She's willing to venture outside her comfort zone. Luv' are used to perform in party tents and big venues where everybody goes crazy. My shows take place in cultural centers with a seated audience," the entertainer asserted.
Piv Huvluv and Marga Scheide's premiere will take place in Waregem, Belgium on September 25th. Other shows will follow in Flanders: Bredene on September 26th, Bruges on October 15th, Knokke on October 31st, Evergem on February 5th, 2021 Roeselare on February 27th. Hopefully, the shows won't be cancelled due to the COVID-19.
