After spending three weeks on the Top 5 of the Dutch bestseller lists, the tell-all book entitled "Patty: de negen levens van Patty Brard" (written by Michel van Egmond and Antoinnette Scheulderman) has experienced a drop in sales.
This week, the sensationalist publication has fallen to #17 on De Bestseller 60 (a list by the Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek ("Collective Promotion for the Dutch Book") representing Dutch bookstores and publishers).
Here are the current positions on the other bestseller lists: #5 on the AKO Boeken top 100, #6 on Libris.nl (Top 10 Non-fictie), #5 on The Read Shop Top 50, #13 on Paagman.nl, #26 on the Bruna Top 100 and #73 on Amazon.nl (Bestsellers in Kindle-boeken).
Excerpts from the book are often published in the press to keep it hot. Recently, Dutch media news website "Mediacourant.nl" posted passages related to La Brard's opinion about Martien Meiland (star of the SBS6's reality show "Chateau Meiland"). According to the ex-Luv' singer, Meiland needs a good manager even if it costs him a high percentage of his profits. "My first advice to people like Martien would be: "take a good manager, and especially a good one even if it costs a lot of money. He could help you to avoid mistakes," she told in her biography. Here's what the diva added about Meiland's participation in the panel game "Ranking the Stars": "It's very nice. I also took part in this program for years but I think it doesn't suit him. A manager should have told him. The same manager should have made sure he was well paid".
