The latest issue of Weekend magazine features an article about Dutch media personality and ex-Luv' singer Chimène van Oosterhout.
The beautiful and multitalented brunette discusses her love life. When asked if she has found Mister Right, she answers: "I usually don't fall in love with special men. I used to be with the wrong partners. I've learned my lesson. I'd rather be alone than have the wrong man. I don't trust a man because of his fine words or his beautiful blue, green or brown eyes. First I check what he tells me instead of believing him when he says: "I love you".
Chimène has learned a lot because of her experiences with men. "After my latest affair with a man who fooled me, I thought: "I can't stand it anymore". I'm special. I have a lot to offer and to give and if a man doesn't like it, he'd better go away. Even if my latest relationship was brief, I knew from the start it was a mistake. He didn't know if he wanted a real relationship with me. He kept on thinking of his ex. So we broke up," she says.
When Chimène had a love affair five years ago with Dutch sports entrepreneur Willem Jacquet, his ex did everything to ruin their relationship. "Now that Willem and I are together, his ex always contacts him and she spreads terrible rumours about me. She tries to convince everybody in our entourage including Willem's children that I'm a bad person. It' silly," the TV presenter told Weekend back then. If the same story happened today, here's what Chimène would say now: "If I had to deal with a jealous ex again, I'd ask the man who loves me to stand up for me. It's normal, right? Now I say to myself: "It is better to be alone than in bad company".
Although Chimène is careful, she is still in need of love. "I miss a good partner. I'm very sociable. I love to do things together, to share things with my soul mate, to practice sports or to be on the couch, just the two of us. My son Lyam is 17 and has driving courses. Next year, he will study at the university. I don't know if he stays in the Netherlands. He'll be gone and my task as an educating mother will be finished. He has to live his life. I'll have to cut the umbilical cord," she asserts.
Chimène gave birth to her son after a brief relationship with the multimillionaire Laurens Last. "I take care of him full-time, also financially. Everybody thinks: Chimène has a rich ex and takes advantage of the situation. Well, that's not true. My ex is somewhere abroad on an island with five other children from three different women. We were never married. I've always made a living on my own. He also told me: "you were the only one like that". I was too annoying for him. It happens a lot with rich guys. It's hard to raise a child on your own and to take care of everything," the former Luv' lady adds.
Moreover, Chimène explains that she is disappointed in dating sites. She tested three of them (Inner Circle, Tinder and Lexa) and after misadventures, she cancelled her memberships.
