Patty Brard will host a new program entitled "Zo goed als nieuw" on SBS 6. She will travel through the Netherlands to meet people who want to restore objects which have an emotional value. That's what the diva announced on SBS 6's entertainment news program "Shownieuws" on June 8th (624.000 viewers/market share: 18%).
"Imagine for example that your father has had an antique car in a garage for years. It would be nice if you called me and if we restored this automobile secretly," Patty said.
Without informing the owners of items, friends and family members can get in touch with La Brard and her team to renovate old objects.
"It's a surprise show. For example, if you received a ring from your husband and you lost it, we would do our best to copy it. If I can help, I'll be very happy," the ex-Luv' singer told.
Patty's new TV project has many similarities to Humberto Tan's forthcoming TV show "The Repair Shop" on RTL 4 (whose original format was developed by the BBC in the UK). The concept: each episode follows craftspeople who restore three family heirlooms that have sentimental value for their owners. The craftspeople are professionals from around the country. Heirlooms are found mostly through social media, and their owners are not charged for the restorations.
Dutch media experts wonder who will win the ratings war: Patty Brard or Humberto Tan?
