Earlier this week, Dutch sports journalist and former football player Johan Derksen told on Veronica's program "Veronica Inside" that Patty Brard's recent recruitment as an entertainment news expert on "RTL Late Night Met Twan Huys" was a bad choice.
Yesterday, the diva struck back at Derksen on RTL Late Night. Last week, the football expert reacted to a petition to make football pitches gay-friendlier. "They have to be tough guys," Derksen said about "two young and hysterical gay men" who wrote to the Royal Dutch Football Association. "Coming out of the closet shouldn't be difficult. If you have a strong character, you simply come out," Derksen added. His remarks caused controversy in Holland. #SorryJohan spread virally as a hashtag on social media to criticize him. "It should have been #DagJohan (#ByeJohan)," Patty asserted. The ex-Luv' singer didn't agree with Derksen when he said that gay men in the closet should be more virile.
