Waylon will represent the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal with his song "Outlaw in 'Em". To this day, this track has been a minor hit on the Dutch Single Top 100 and peaked at #84. Waylon had previously taken part in the ESC in 2014 as part of The Common Linnets alongside Ilse DeLange. Their song "Calm After the Storm" earned 238 points in the final, placing them second after "Rise Like a Phoenix" by Conchita Wurst from Austria. It even became a Top 10 hit in several European countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Irland, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, UK). Before the success of The Common Linnets, Patty didn't believe in their potential. After their good performance at the ESC, she apologized to the duo in a column published in Weekend magazine (see news posted on May 19th, 2014). In contrast, Luv' singer José Hoebee supported Waylon and Ilse from the start.
