Last month, V2 Records announced that "We Only Part To Meet Again", the second album by Dutch folk band "Mister and Mississippi" would be released on January 30th, 2015. The group features Maxime Barlag (niece of ex-Luv' singer Ria Thielsch).
Mister and Mississippi can be proud of their achievements. Their debut album peaked at #6 on Dutch Album Top 100 and spent 19 weeks on the charts. They won a "Best newcomer" 3FM Award in 2013 and an Edison Award ("Alternative" category) in 2014. The quartet toured the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Last March, they even played at the prestigious SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
"The arrangements on the new album are richer thanks to strings and horns. You can hear the influence of our experience on stage. We've had more balls and the lyrics are more personal," guitarist Danny van Tiggele told Dutch radio station 3Voor12 in a recent interview.
"We Only Part To Meet Again" is a tribute to Maxime's mother and Ria's sister who passed away earlier this year. The release party will take place at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, NL on January 29th, 2015.
